Abu Salamah told us, Layth informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw phlegm on the qiblah wall of the mosque while he was praying in front of the people, so he scraped it off, then said when he finished the prayer: "When one of you is in prayer, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is before his face, so let none of you spit phlegm before his face during the prayer."
