حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فِي الْمُصَلَّى فِي الْفِطْرِ وَإِلَى جَنْبِهِ ابْنٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ لِابْنِهِ هَلْ تَدْرِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ قَالَ لَا أَدْرِي قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ.

Hasan told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, Ja'far ibn Rabi'ah told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Rafi' al-Hadrami, who said: I saw Ibn Umar at the place of prayer on the day of the Fitr festival, with a son of his beside him. He said to his son: "Do you know how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do on this day?" He said: "I do not know." Ibn Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray before the sermon."
