حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ جَرَّ ثَوْبَهُ خُيَلَاءَ لَمْ يَنْظُرْ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ ثَوْبِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ خُيَلَاءَ قَالَ مُوسَى قُلْتُ لِسَالِمٍ أَذَكَرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ قَالَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ ذَكَرَ إِلَّا ثَوْبَهُ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ.

Attab narrated to us: Abdullah - namely Ibn al-Mubarak - narrated to us: Musa ibn Uqbah informed us, from Salim ibn Abdullah, from Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever trails his garment out of pride, God will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection." Abu Bakr said: "One side of my garment slips down unless I keep watch over it." The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You are not one of those who do that out of pride." Musa said: I said to Salim, "Did Abdullah mention 'trails his lower garment'?" He said: "I only heard him mention 'his garment.'" Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Abdullah informed us: Musa ibn Uqbah informed us, relating the like of it with its chain.
