حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَلْيَشُقَّهُمَا أَوْ لِيَقْطَعْهُمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنْ الْكَعْبَيْنِ.

Abdullah said: I found in my father's book: Hajjaj told us, Shu'bah told me, from Abdullah ibn Dinar: I heard Ibn Umar narrating from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said, "Whoever does not find sandals should wear leather socks (khuffs) and should tear them, or cut them below the ankles."
