Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from Ibn Umar, that a man called out and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what garments must the one in ihram avoid?' He said: 'He should not wear trousers, nor a shirt, nor a cloak, nor a turban, nor a garment touched by saffron or wars. Let one of you enter ihram in a lower wrap and an upper wrap and sandals; and if he cannot find sandals, let him wear leather socks and cut them so that they are below the ankles.'
