حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثَلُكُمْ وَمَثَلُ الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى كَرَجُلٍ اسْتَعْمَلَ عُمَّالًا فَقَالَ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ إِلَى نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ عَلَى قِيرَاطٍ قِيرَاطٍ أَلَا فَعَمِلَتْ الْيَهُودُ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ لِي مِنْ نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ عَلَى قِيرَاطٍ قِيرَاطٍ أَلَا فَعَمِلَتْ النَّصَارَى ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ لِي مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ إِلَى غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ عَلَى قِيرَاطَيْنِ قِيرَاطَيْنِ أَلَا فَأَنْتُمْ الَّذِينَ عَمِلْتُمْ فَغَضِبَ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى قَالُوا نَحْنُ كُنَّا أَكْثَرَ عَمَلًا وَأَقَلَّ عَطَاءً قَالَ هَلْ ظَلَمْتُكُمْ مِنْ حَقِّكُمْ شَيْئًا قَالُوا لَا قَالَ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ فَضْلِي أُوتِيهِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Isma'il told us, Ayyub informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Your example and the example of the Jews and the Christians is like a man who employed workers and said: 'Who will work for me from the dawn prayer to midday for one qirat?' So the Jews worked. Then he said: 'Who will work for me from midday to the afternoon prayer for one qirat?' So the Christians worked. Then he said: 'Who will work for me from the afternoon prayer to sunset for two qirats?' So you are the ones who worked." The Jews and Christians grew angry and said: "We did more work and received less pay." He said: "Have I wronged you of any of your due?" They said: "No." He said: "It is only my favor, which I give to whom I wish."
