الترجمة الإنجليزية
Affan told us: Hammad ibn Zayd told us: Asim ibn Bahdala told us, and Mansur ibn al-Mu'tamir told us, from Abu Wa'il, from Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How evil it is for one of them, or one of you, to say, 'I have forgotten such-and-such a verse'; rather, he was made to forget. Keep the Qur'an in memory by recitation, for it slips away faster from the hearts of men than livestock slips from its hobbles" — or he said, "than it slips from its hobble."
