Yunus told us: Shayban told us, from Mansur ibn al-Mu'tamir, from Ibrahim, from Abida al-Salmani, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: A rabbi came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Muhammad," or "O Messenger of Allah, indeed Allah, Mighty and Sublime, on the Day of Resurrection will carry the heavens on one finger, the earths on one finger, the mountains on one finger, the trees on one finger, the water and the soil on one finger, and the rest of creation on one finger, shaking them, and say, 'I am the King.'" He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed until his molar teeth showed, confirming what the rabbi said, then he recited: "They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal, while the earth entirely will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection," to the end of the verse. Aswad narrated it to us: Isra'il told us, from Mansur, who mentioned it with its chain and its meaning, and said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed until his molar tooth showed, confirming his words.
