حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَ كَانَ فِينَا رَجُلٌ لَمْ تَزَلْ بِهِ أُمُّهُ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ حَتَّى تَزَوَّجَ ثُمَّ أَمَرَتْهُ أَنْ يُفَارِقَهَا فَرَحَلَ إِلَى أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ بِالشَّامِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمِّي لَمْ تَزَلْ بِي حَتَّى تَزَوَّجْتُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَتْنِي أَنْ أُفَارِقَ قَالَ مَا أَنَا بِالَّذِي آمُرُكَ أَنْ تُفَارِقَ وَمَا أَنَا بِالَّذِي آمُرُكَ أَنْ تُمْسِكَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الْوَالِدُ أَوْسَطُ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ فَأَضِعْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابَ أَوْ احْفَظْهُ قَالَ فَرَجَعَ وَقَدْ فَارَقَهَا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami. He said: There was among us a man whose mother kept pressing him to marry until he married. Then she ordered him to divorce her. So he traveled to Abu al-Darda' in Sham and said: "My mother kept pressing me until I married, then she ordered me to divorce her." He said: "I will not tell you to divorce her, and I will not tell you to keep her. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'The parent is the middle gate of Paradise. So lose that gate or preserve it.'" He said: So the man returned and had divorced her.
