Haytham narrated to us, Abu al-Rabi' narrated to us, from Yunus, from Abu Idris, from Abu al-Darda', from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "Everything has a reality, and no servant reaches the reality of faith until he knows that what has befallen him was never going to miss him, and what has missed him was never going to befall him." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to me from Abu al-Rabi' all these hadiths, except that he stopped (did not attribute to the Prophet) the hadith about "If you were forgiven for what you do to the animals." And my father narrated it to us from him as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet).
