الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Malik ibn Amr narrated to us, Zuhayr, meaning Ibn Muhammad al-Khurasani, narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad, meaning Ibn Aqil ibn Abi Talib, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Talhah, from his uncle Imran ibn Talhah, from his mother Hamnah bint Jahsh, who said: I used to suffer from severe and heavy istihadah (non-menstrual bleeding), so I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to ask him for a ruling and to inform him. I found him in the house of my sister Zaynab bint Jahsh. She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a need from you." He said: "What is it?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I suffer from heavy and severe istihadah, so what do you think about it? It has prevented me from praying and fasting." He said: "I prescribe for you cotton, for it removes the blood." She said: "It is more than that." He said: "Then use a cloth pad." She said: "It only gushes forth." So he said to her: "I will command you with two options; whichever of them you do will suffice you for the other. And if you are able to do both, then you know best." Then he said to her: "This is only a kick from the kicks of Shaytan. So consider yourself menstruating for six or seven days in the knowledge of Allah, then perform ghusl. When you see that you have become clean and are certain and feel purified, then pray for twenty-four nights or twenty-three nights and their days, and fast, for that will suffice you. And do likewise every month, as women menstruate and become pure according to the timing of their menstruation and purity. And if you are able to delay Dhuhr and hasten Asr, then perform ghusl and pray Dhuhr and Asr together. Then delay Maghrib and hasten Isha, then perform ghusl and combine the two prayers. Do that, and perform ghusl at Fajr time and pray. Do likewise, and pray and fast if you are able to do that." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is the more pleasing of the two options to me."
