Affan told us, Hammad ibn Salamah told us, he said Dawud informed us, from Amir, from Fatimah bint Qays, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came one day in haste and ascended the pulpit, and it was announced among the people, "The prayer is to be held in congregation," and the people gathered. He said, "O people, I did not summon you for any desire that had descended nor for any fear, but Tamim al-Dari informed me that some people from the people of Palestine sailed the sea, and the wind cast them onto an island among the islands of the sea. There they encountered a hairy creature, and it could not be told whether it was male or female due to the abundance of its hair. They said, 'Who are you?' It said, 'I am the Jassasah.' They said, 'Then tell us.' It said, 'I will not tell you anything nor ask you anything, but in this monastery there is a man eager to tell you and to ask you.' So they entered the monastery, and there was a man, blind, shackled in iron. He said, 'Who are you?' We said, 'We are Arabs.' He said, 'Has the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, been sent among you?' We said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Have the Arabs followed him?' They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'That is better for them.' He said, 'What has become of Persia? Has he prevailed over it?' They said, 'He has not yet prevailed over it.' He said, 'Indeed, he will prevail over it.' Then he said, 'What has become of the spring of Zughar?' They said, 'It flows brimming full.' He said, 'What has become of the Lake of Tiberias?' They said, 'It flows brimming full.' He said, 'What has become of the palm trees of Baysan? Have they borne fruit yet?' They said, 'Their early crop has already borne fruit.' He then leapt up with a leap such that we thought he would escape, so we said, 'Who are you?' He said, 'I am the Dajjal. I shall tread upon the whole earth except Mecca and Tayyibah.'" Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Rejoice, O community of Muslims, for this is Tayyibah, which the Dajjal will not enter."
