حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَوْنٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ شَدَّادٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ الْوُضُوءُ مِمَّا مَسَّتْ النَّارُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ أَوْ ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِمَرْوَانَ فَقَالَ مَا أَدْرِي مَنْ نَسْأَلُ كَيْفَ وَفِينَا أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَعَثَنِي إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَحَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَتَنَاوَلَ عَرْقًا فَانْتَهَسَ عَظْمًا ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Rahman told us: I heard Sufyan say: I heard Abu Awn say: I heard Abdullah b. Shaddad say: I heard Abu Hurayrah say: "Ablution is required from that which the fire has touched." I mentioned that - or it was mentioned - to Marwan, and he said, "I do not know whom we should ask; how, when among us are the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?" So he sent me to Umm Salamah, and she related to me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went out to prayer, having taken hold of a foreleg of meat and torn a bite from the bone, then he prayed without performing ablution.
