Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja'far, who said: Shu'bah and Hajjaj narrated to us - Hajjaj said: Shu'bah narrated to me - who said: I heard Qatadah relate, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, from 'Amir, the brother of Umm Salamah, from Umm Salamah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to enter the morning in a state of major impurity without a wet dream, then he would fast his day. He said: So Abu Hurayrah abandoned his religious verdict. [Also] narrated to us by Ibn Ja'far, who said: Sa'id narrated to me, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, from 'Amir ibn Abi Umayyah, the brother of Umm Salamah, without mentioning Umm Salamah, similarly.
