حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ يَا أُمَّهْ قَدْ خِفْتُ أَنْ يُهْلِكَنِي كَثْرَةُ مَالِي أَنَا أَكْثَرُ قُرَيْشٍ مَالًا قَالَتْ يَا بُنَيَّ فَأَنْفِقْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي مَنْ لَا يَرَانِي بَعْدَ أَنْ أُفَارِقَهُ فَخَرَجَ فَلَقِيَ عُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَهَا بِاللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ أَنَا فَقَالَتْ لَا وَلَنْ أُبْلِيَ أَحَدًا بَعْدَكَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Mu'awiyah told us, al-A'mash told us, from Shaqiq, from Umm Salamah, who said: 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf came in to her and said, "O Mother, I fear that the abundance of my wealth will destroy me - I am the wealthiest of Quraysh." She said, "O my son, then spend, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, 'Among my Companions there is one who will not see me again after he parts from me.'" So he went out and met 'Umar and told him. 'Umar came and went in to her and said, "By Allah, am I one of them?" She said, "No, and I will never again clear anyone [of that fear] after you."
