Ya'qub told us: My father told me, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib told me, from Sulayman ibn Abi Sulayman, from his mother Umm Sulayman - both of them being trustworthy - who said: I entered upon Aisha, wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and asked her about the meat of sacrificial animals. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had forbidden it, then he permitted it. Ali ibn Abi Talib came from a journey, and Fatimah brought him meat from her sacrifices. He said, "Did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, not forbid it?" She said, "He has permitted it." She said: So Ali went in to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and asked him about that, and he said to him: Eat it, from one Dhu al-Hijjah to the next.
