حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةً لَا يَقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ.

Ya'qub told us: My father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Yahya ibn Abbad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr told me, from Aisha, wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever prays a prayer in which he does not recite the Mother of the Qur'an, it is deficient.
