الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ya'qub narrated to us: My father narrated to us, from Salih ibn Kaysan: Ibn Shihab said: Urwa ibn al-Zubayr informed me that Aisha said: Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, "Veil your wives." She said: But he did not do so. She said: The wives of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, used to go out at night to relieve themselves toward al-Manasi. Sawda bint Zam'a went out - she was a tall woman - and Umar saw her while he was in the mosque, and said, "I have recognized you, O Sawda," out of eagerness that the veil be revealed. She said: So God, Mighty and Majestic, revealed the verse of veiling.
