قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ أَهْدَى أَبُو جَهْمِ بْنُ حُذَيْفَةَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَمِيصَةً شَامِيَّةً لَهَا عَلَمٌ فَشَهِدَ فِيهَا الصَّلَاةَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ رُدِّي هَذِهِ الْخَمِيصَةَ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمٍ فَإِنِّي نَظَرْتُ إِلَى عَلَمِهَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَكَادَ يَفْتِنُنِي.

He said: I read to Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi, from Malik - and Ishaq ibn Isa told us, he said: Malik informed me - from Alqamah ibn Abi Alqamah, from his mother, from Aisha, that she said: Abu Jahm ibn Hudhayfah gave the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, a Syrian cloak with markings on it, and he wore it in prayer. When he finished, he said, "Return this cloak to Abu Jahm, for I looked at its markings during the prayer, and it almost distracted me."
