Hajjaj narrated to us: Layth narrated to me: Uqayl narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah, from Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: that whenever someone from her family died and the women gathered and then dispersed except for her family and those close to her, she would order a pot of talbinah to be made, and it would be cooked, then tharid would be prepared and the talbinah poured over it, then she would say: Eat from it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Talbinah brings comfort to the heart of the sick person and takes away some of the sorrow.
