حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَيُّ الْقِرَاءَتَيْنِ كَانَتْ أَخِيرًا قِرَاءَةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَوْ قِرَاءَةُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ قُلْنَا قِرَاءَةُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَعْرِضُ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى جَبْرَائِيلَ كُلَّ عَامٍ مَرَّةً فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي الْعَامِ الَّذِي قُبِضَ فِيهِ عَرَضَهُ عَلَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَكَانَتْ آخِرَ الْقِرَاءَةِ قِرَاءَةُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
He (Ibn Abbas) asked: 'Which of the two readings was the last — the reading of Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) or the reading of Zayd?' We said: 'The reading of Zayd.' He said: 'No. Rather, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to review the Quran with Jibril once every year. In the year he passed away, he reviewed it with him twice, and the last reading was the reading of Abdullah.'
