حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُذْرَةَ رَجُلٌ كَانَ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْحَمَّامَاتِ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ لِلرِّجَالِ فِي الْمَآزِرِ وَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لِلنِّسَاءِ.

Waki' narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Shaddad, from Abu Udhrah - a man who had met the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him - from A'ishah, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade public bathhouses for men and women, then permitted men [to use them] with lower wraps, but did not permit women."
