حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ تُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ السِّوَاكَ مَطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ.

Affan told us: Yazid ibn Zurayi' told us: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Atiq told us, from his father, that he heard Aisha narrate to him from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: 'The tooth-stick purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord.'
