حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَ لَهَا يَا بُنَيَّةُ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ قَالَ فِي كَمْ كَفَّنْتُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَتِ كَفَّنَّاهُ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ بِيضٍ سُحُولِيَّةٍ جُدُدٍ يَمَانِيَةٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا قَمِيصٌ وَلَا عِمَامَةٌ أُدْرِجَ فِيهَا إِدْرَاجًا.

Sulayman ibn Dawud told us: Abd al-Rahman informed us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from A'ishah, who said: Abu Bakr said to her, "O my little daughter, on what day did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pass away?" I said, "On Monday." He said, "In how many garments did you shroud the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" I said, "O my father, we shrouded him in three white Suhuli garments, new, Yemeni, without a shirt or turban among them, wrapped around him in wrapping."
