حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَارَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا عَائِشَةُ فِي بَيْتِهَا إِذْ سَمِعَتْ صَوْتًا فِي الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَتْ مَا هَذَا قَالُوا عِيرٌ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَدِمَتْ مِنْ الشَّامِ تَحْمِلُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَالَ فَكَانَتْ سَبْعَ مِائَةِ بَعِيرٍ قَالَ فَارْتَجَّتْ الْمَدِينَةُ مِنْ الصَّوْتِ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ حَبْوًا فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ فَقَالَ إِنْ اسْتَطَعْتُ لَأَدْخُلَنَّهَا قَائِمًا فَجَعَلَهَا بِأَقْتَابِهَا وَأَحْمَالِهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Samad ibn Hassan told us: Umarah informed us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: While A'ishah was in her house, she heard a noise in Medina, so she said, "What is this?" They said, "It is the caravan of Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, arriving from Syria, carrying all kinds of goods." He said: It numbered seven hundred camels. He said: Medina shook from the noise. A'ishah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'I have seen Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf entering Paradise crawling.'" When this reached Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, he said, "If I am able, I shall enter it walking upright," and he dedicated it with its pack-saddles and loads in the way of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
