Bahz told us, saying Hammam told us, saying Qatadah told us, from Zurarah bin Awfa, that Sa'd bin Hisham told him, saying: I said: O Mother of the Believers, tell me about the character of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. She said: Do you not read the Qur'an? He said: I said: Yes indeed, and he mentioned the rest of the hadith. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever he prayed a prayer, would maintain it regularly; and whenever he missed standing in prayer at night due to his eyes being overcome by sleep or pain, he would pray twelve rak'ahs during the day. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, never stood in prayer through an entire night until morning, nor recited the whole Qur'an in a single night, nor fasted a whole month other than Ramadan, until he died.
