حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَتْ امْرَأَةُ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ وَأَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ رِفَاعَةَ طَلَّقَنِي الْبَتَّةَ وَإِنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ تَزَوَّجَنِي وَإِنَّمَا عِنْدَهُ مِثْلُ هُدْبَتِي وَأَخَذَتْ هُدْبَةً مِنْ جِلْبَابِهَا وَخَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ بِالْبَابِ لَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَلَا تَنْهَى هَذِهِ عَمَّا تَجْهَرُ بِهِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا زَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى التَّبَسُّمِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَأَنَّكِ تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ لَا حَتَّى تَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ وَيَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ.

Abd al-A'la told us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from Aishah, who said: The wife of Rifa'ah al-Qurazi entered while I and Abu Bakr were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said, "Rifa'ah divorced me irrevocably, and Abd al-Rahman b. al-Zubayr married me, but he only has with him something like the fringe of my garment" — and she took a fringe from her outer garment. Khalid b. Sa'id b. al-As was at the door, not having been given permission to enter, and he said, "O Abu Bakr, will you not forbid this woman from proclaiming aloud in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) what she is proclaiming?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did nothing more than smile, and said, "It seems you want to return to Rifa'ah — no, not until you taste his honey and he tastes yours."
