حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ وَأَبُو أَحْمَدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْرَائِيلَ قَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ بِلَالٍ قَالَ أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ لَا أُثَوِّبَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَّا صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ وَقَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَذَّنْتَ فَلَا تُثَوِّبْ.

Hasan bin ar-Rabi' and Abu Ahmad narrated to us, they said: Abu Isra'il narrated to us — Abu Ahmad said in his narration: al-Hakam narrated to us, from Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Layla, from Bilal, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered me not to repeat the call (tathwib) in any prayer except the dawn prayer. And Abu Ahmad said in his narration: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: When you give the call to prayer, do not add the tathwib.
