حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْمِقْدَادُ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ أُدْنِيَتْ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ الْعِبَادِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ قِيدَ مِيلٍ أَوْ مِيلَيْنِ قَالَ فَتَصْهَرُهُمْ الشَّمْسُ فَيَكُونُونَ فِي الْعَرَقِ كَقَدْرِ أَعْمَالِهِمْ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ إِلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ إِلَى رُكْبَتِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ إِلَى حَقْوَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُلْجِمُهُ إِلْجَامًا.

Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir: Sulaym ibn Amir narrated to me: al-Miqdad, a companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, narrated to me, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "When the Day of Resurrection comes, the sun will be brought close to the servants until it is at the distance of a mile or two miles." He said: "So the sun will melt them, and they will be in sweat according to their deeds. Among them is one whom it reaches to his heels, among them is one whom it reaches to his knees, among them is one whom it reaches to his waist, and among them is one whom it bridles completely."
