حَدَّثَنَا يَعْمَرُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنْبَأَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ أَنَّ عَطَاءَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَوْ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ قَالَ تَذَاكَرْنَا بَيْنَنَا فَقُلْنَا أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَسْأَلَهُ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَهِبْنَا أَنْ يَقُومَ مِنَّا أَحَدٌ فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْنَا رَجُلًا رَجُلًا حَتَّى جَمَعَنَا فَجَعَلَ بَعْضُنَا يُشِيرُ إِلَى بَعْضٍ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ { سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ } قَالَ فَتَلَاهَا مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا قَالَ فَتَلَاهَا عَلَيْنَا ابْنُ سَلَامٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا قَالَ فَتَلَاهَا عَلَيْنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا قَالَ يَحْيَى فَتَلَاهَا عَلَيْنَا هِلَالٌ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا قَالَ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ فَتَلَاهَا عَلَيْنَا يَحْيَى مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا إِلَى آخِرِهَا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ya'mar narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, al-Awza'i informed us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us, Hilal ibn Abi Maymuna narrated to me, that 'Ata' ibn Yasar narrated to him, that 'Abdullah ibn Salam narrated to him -- or he said: Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to me from 'Abdullah ibn Salam -- who said: We discussed among ourselves and said, "Which of us will go to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and ask him which deeds are most beloved to God?" We were too in awe for any of us to stand up. So the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, sent us a man, one after another, until he had gathered us, and some of us began gesturing to others. Then the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, recited to us: {Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts God...} up to His saying {it is greatly hateful in the sight of God}. He said: he recited it from beginning to end. He said: Ibn Salam recited it to us from beginning to end. He said: 'Ata' ibn Yasar recited it to us from beginning to end. Yahya said: Hilal recited it to us from beginning to end. Al-Awza'i said: Yahya recited it to us from beginning to end.
