Yazid told us: Sulayman al-Taymi informed us, from Abu Uthman, from Salman, who said: "Allah, Mighty and Sublime, is too shy to let a servant stretch out his hands to Him asking Him for good and then return them empty." Yazid told us: A man in the gathering of Amr ibn Ubayd informed us that he heard Abu Uthman relate this from Salman al-Farisi, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yazid said: "Name him for me." They said: "He is Ja'far ibn Maymun." Abdullah said: My father said, meaning Ja'far, the owner of the carpets.
