It was narrated from Abu Ayyub: that he had a storeroom, and a ghoul used to come and take things from it. He complained about it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "When you see it, say, 'In the name of Allah, answer the Messenger of Allah.'" He said: It came, and he said that to it and seized it. It said to him, "I will not return," so he released it. He went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who asked him, "What did your captive do?" He said, "I caught it, and it said to me, 'I will not return,' so I released it." He said, "It will come back." He caught it twice or three times more, each time it saying, "I will not return," and each time he would go to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who would ask, "What did your captive do?" and he would answer, "I caught it," and it had said, "I will not return," and the Prophet would say, "It will come back." He caught it again, and it said, "Let me go, and I will teach you something to say so that nothing will come near you - the Verse of the Throne." He went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and told him, and he said, "It told the truth, though it is a habitual liar."
