حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ الرَّقَاشِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَوْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ نَالَ مِنْهُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَنَالَ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ بِسَائِرِهِ إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ وَفِيهِ أَثَرُ يَدِهِ فَأُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فِيهِ الثُّومُ فَلَمْ يَطْعَمْ مِنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا وَبَعَثَ بِهِ إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَهْلُهُ فَقَالَ ادْنُوهُ مِنِّي فَإِنِّي أَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا لَمْ يَرَ أَثَرَ يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ كَفَّ يَدَهُ مِنْهُ وَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي هَذَا الطَّعَامُ لَمْ تَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ آكُلُ مِنْهُ قَالَ فِيهِ تِلْكَ الثُّومَةُ فَيَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيَّ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام قَالَ فَآكُلُ مِنْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَكُلْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, Wasil al-Raqashi narrated to us, from Abu Sawrah, from Abu Ayyub: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever food was brought to him, would take from it what Allah willed him to take, then send the rest to Abu Ayyub with the mark of his hand in it. So food containing garlic was brought, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ate none of it, and sent it to Abu Ayyub. His family spoke to him about it. He said: Bring it near me, for I need it. But when he did not see the mark of the Messenger of Allah's hand, peace and blessings be upon him, in it, he withheld his hand from it, and went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Prophet of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, this food which you did not eat from — shall I eat from it? He said: It has that garlic in it, and Gabriel, peace be upon him, seeks permission to come to me. He said: Then may I eat from it, O Messenger of Allah? He said: Yes, eat.
