حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ إِلَى سَفَرٍ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الضُّبْنَةِ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْكَآبَةِ فِي الْمُنْقَلَبِ اللَّهُمَّ اطْوِ لَنَا الْأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ الرُّجُوعَ قَالَ آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ وَإِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلَهُ قَالَ تَوْبًا تَوْبًا لِرَبِّنَا أَوْبًا لَا يُغَادِرُ عَلَيْنَا حَوْبًا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would say: 'O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Guardian over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the inadequacy of provisions on the journey and from a dismal return. O Allah, fold the earth for us and make the journey easy for us.' When he intended to return, he would say: 'Returning, repenting, worshipping, and praising our Lord.' When he entered upon his family, he would say: 'Repentance, repentance to our Lord, turning back — leaving no sin upon us.'
