حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَيَحْيَى بْنُ جَعْدَةَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الرَّسُولِ قَالَ ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَوْلَاةً لِبَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا تَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ وَتَصُومُ النَّهَارَ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَكِنِّي أَنَا أَنَامُ وَأُصَلِّي وَأَصُومُ وَأُفْطِرُ فَمَنْ اقْتَدَى بِي فَهُوَ مِنِّي وَمَنْ رَغِبَ عَنْ سُنَّتِي فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي إِنَّ لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ شِرَّةً ثُمَّ فَتْرَةً فَمَنْ كَانَتْ فَتْرَتُهُ إِلَى بِدْعَةٍ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ وَمَنْ كَانَتْ فَتْرَتُهُ إِلَى سُنَّةٍ فَقَدْ اهْتَدَى.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Mujahid, who said: I and Yahya ibn Ja'dah went in to a man of the Ansar, one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah. He said: They mentioned before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, a freedwoman of the family of Abd al-Muttalib, saying: She keeps vigil at night and fasts during the day. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: But I sleep and I pray, I fast and I break my fast. Whoever follows my example is of me, and whoever turns away from my way is not of me. Indeed every act of worship has a burst of energy, then a lull; so whoever's lull leads to innovation has gone astray, and whoever's lull leads to the sunnah has been rightly guided.
