حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ رِجَالًا لَا أُعْطِيهِمْ شَيْئًا أَكِلُهُمْ إِلَى إِيمَانِهِمْ مِنْهُمْ فُرَاتُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ قَالَ مِنْ بَنِي عِجْلٍ.

Yahya ibn Adam told us, Isra'il told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Haritha ibn Mudarrib, from one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to his companions, "Among you are men to whom I give nothing, leaving them to their faith" - among them was Furat ibn Hayyan.
