حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ أَعْوَرَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَعْرُوفٌ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَلِيمَةُ حَقٌّ وَالْيَوْمُ الثَّانِي مَعْرُوفٌ وَالْيَوْمُ الثَّالِثُ سُمْعَةٌ وَرِيَاءٌ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd ar-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us: Hammam told us, from Qatada, from al-Hasan, from Abdullah ibn Uthman ath-Thaqafi, from a man of Thaqif, one-eyed, called Ma'ruf, and he spoke well of him - who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The wedding feast is a right; the second day is a good custom; and the third day is for show and reputation.
