حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى مَجْلِسٍ وَهُمْ يَتَنَاوَلُونَ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَ فِي نَفْسِي عَلَى عَلِيٍّ شَيْءٌ وَكَانَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ كَذَلِكَ فَبَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ عَلَيْهَا عَلِيٌّ وَأَصَبْنَا سَبْيًا قَالَ فَأَخَذَ عَلِيٌّ جَارِيَةً مِنْ الْخُمُسِ لِنَفْسِهِ فَقَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ دُونَكَ قَالَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلْتُ أُحَدِّثُهُ بِمَا كَانَ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ إِنَّ عَلِيًّا أَخَذَ جَارِيَةً مِنْ الْخُمُسِ قَالَ وَكُنْتُ رَجُلًا مِكْبَابًا قَالَ فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي فَإِذَا وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ تَغَيَّرَ فَقَالَ مَنْ كُنْتُ وَلِيَّهُ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّهُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Waki' told us: al-A'mash told us, from Sa'd ibn Ubaydah, from Ibn Buraydah, from his father: that he passed by a gathering where the people were disparaging Ali, so he stopped before them and said: I too once had something in my heart against Ali, as did Khalid ibn al-Walid. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent me on an expedition commanded by Ali, and we took captives. Ali took a slave-girl from the fifth share for himself, and Khalid ibn al-Walid said: Take note of this. When we came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, I began telling him what had happened, then I said: Ali took a slave-girl from the fifth share. He said: I was a man who used to bow my head a great deal, and I raised my head and saw that the face of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had changed color, and he said: Whoever's guardian I am, Ali is his guardian.
