حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ قَالَ خَالِدٌ أَحْسِبُهُ عَمْرَو بْنَ بُجْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ فَوَجَدَ قُتَارًا فَقَالَ مَنْ صَنَعَ هَذَا أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ شَكَّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ فَخَرَجَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَوْمٌ اللَّحْمُ فِيهِ كَرِيهٌ وَإِنِّي عَجَّلْتُ نَسِيكَتِي قَالَ فَأَعِدْ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا جَذَعٌ أَوْ حَمَلٌ مِنْ الضَّأْنِ قَالَ فَاذْبَحْهُ وَلَا يُجْزِئُ جَذَعٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ بُجْدَانَ عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِ دِيَارِنَا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us: Khalid informed us, from Abu Qilabah, from a man from his people -- Khalid said: I think he is 'Amr ibn Bujdan -- from Abu Zayd al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed through the houses of the Ansar and detected the smell of roasting meat, and he said: "Who did this?" -- or as he said, Isma'il being uncertain -- so a man came out and said: "O Messenger of Allah, this is a day on which meat is scarce, and I hastened my sacrifice." He said: "Then repeat it." The man said: "By Allah, I have nothing but a yearling or a lamb of the sheep." He said: "Then slaughter it, but a yearling will not suffice for anyone after you." -- 'Abd al-Samad narrated to us: My father narrated to us: Khalid al-Hadhdha' narrated to us: Abu Qilabah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Bujdan, from Abu Zayd al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed among the dwellings of our quarter -- and he mentioned something similar in meaning.
