حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ التُّجِيبِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَوَالَةَ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ نَجَا مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ فَقَدْ نَجَا قَالَهُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالُوا مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مَوْتِي وَمِنْ قَتْلِ خَلِيفَةٍ مُصْطَبِرٍ بِالْحَقِّ يُعْطِيهِ وَالدَّجَّالِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zahiriyyah, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from 'Abdullah ibn Hawalah, who said: We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, assign us to the best of lands.' He said: "You will have armies: an army in al-Sham, an army in Iraq, and an army in Yemen." We said: 'Choose for us, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: "You must go to al-Sham, for whoever refuses, let him join his Yemen and drink from his water sources, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has guaranteed al-Sham and its people for me."
