Bahz narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Ya'la ibn 'Ata' informed me, from Abu Hammam - Abu al-Aswad said: He is 'Abdullah ibn Yasar - from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Fihri, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the Battle of Hunayn. We marched on a hot, scorching day and rested under the shade of trees. When the sun passed its zenith, I put on my armor and mounted my horse, and went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who was in his tent. I said: 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah. It is time to move.' He said: 'Yes.' Then he said: 'O Bilal!' And he sprang up from under an acacia tree as if his shadow were the shadow of a bird, and said: 'At your service and pleasure, I am your ransom.' He said: 'Saddle my horse for me.' He brought out a saddle whose two sides were made of palm fiber, with no extravagance or luxury in them. He saddled it, and the Prophet mounted and we mounted, and we faced the enemy that evening and night. The two cavalries met, and the Muslims turned away fleeing, as Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'O servants of Allah! I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.' Then he said: 'O gathering of the Emigrants! I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger.' Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dismounted from his horse and took a handful of dust. The one who was closer to him than I told me he threw it at their faces and said: 'May the faces be disfigured!' Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, defeated them. Ya'la ibn 'Ata' said: Their sons narrated to me from their fathers that they said: 'Not one of us remained except that his eyes and mouth were filled with dust, and we heard a clanging between the heaven and the earth like iron being drawn across an iron basin.' 'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Ya'la ibn 'Ata' informed us, from 'Abdullah ibn Yasar Abu Hammam, from Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Fihri, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the Battle of Hunayn. We marched on a hot, scorching day - and he mentioned the same narration.
