حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَبِيلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئَ يَقُولُ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ أَبِي قَبِيلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُبْلَانِيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا بِهَذِهِ الْآيَةِ { يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ } فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَنْ أَشْرَكَ فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَشْرَكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hasan and Hajjaj narrated to us, and said: Ibn Lahi'a narrated to us: Abu Qabil narrated to us, who said: I heard Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri saying — Hajjaj said, from Abu Qabil: Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Jublani narrated to me that he heard Thawban, freedman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I would not love to have the world and everything in it in exchange for this verse: {O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; indeed Allah forgives all sins; indeed He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.}" A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, what of one who commits shirk?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell silent, then said, "Except one who commits shirk" — three times.
