حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ حَدَّثَنَا لُقْمَانُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ حَجَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا لَعَلَّكُمْ لَا تَرَوْنِي بَعْدَ عَامِكُمْ هَذَا أَلَا لَعَلَّكُمْ لَا تَرَوْنِي بَعْدَ عَامِكُمْ هَذَا أَلَا لَعَلَّكُمْ لَا تَرَوْنِي بَعْدَ عَامِكُمْ هَذَا فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ طَوِيلٌ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ فَمَا الَّذِي نَفْعَلُ فَقَالَ اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَصَلُّوا خَمْسَكُمْ وَصُومُوا شَهْرَكُمْ وَحُجُّوا بَيْتَكُمْ وَأَدُّوا زَكَاتَكُمْ طَيِّبَةً بِهَا أَنْفُسُكُمْ تَدْخُلُوا جَنَّةَ رَبِّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.

Abu al-Nadr told us, Faraj ibn Fadalah told us, Luqman ibn Amir told us, from Abu Umamah, who said: I performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, the Farewell Pilgrimage, and he praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "Indeed, perhaps you will not see me after this year of yours; indeed, perhaps you will not see me after this year of yours; indeed, perhaps you will not see me after this year of yours." A tall man, as if from the men of Shanu'ah, stood up and said, "O Prophet of Allah, what then shall we do?" He said: "Worship your Lord, pray your five daily prayers, fast your month, perform Hajj to your House, and pay your zakat willingly with good hearts -- you will enter the Paradise of your Lord, Mighty and Majestic."
