Abdullah narrated to us: My father narrated to me: Hasan narrated to us: Ibn Lahiah narrated to us: Zabban ibn Faid narrated to us, from Sahl ibn Muadh, from his father, that he asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the most excellent faith. He said, 'The most excellent faith is that you love for the sake of Allah, hate for the sake of Allah, and keep your tongue occupied with the remembrance of Allah.' He said, 'And what else, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'And that you love for people what you love for yourself, and hate for them what you hate for yourself, and that you speak good or remain silent.'
