Abd al-Rahman told this to us, Sufyan told us; and Abd al-Razzaq said: Ma'mar told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Amr ibn Maymun, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, who said: I was riding behind the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: Do you know what is the right of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, upon His servants? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: That they worship Him and not associate anything with Him. He said: Do you know what is the right of the servants upon Allah if they do that — that He forgive them and not punish them. Ma'mar said in his hadith: I said: O Messenger of Allah, shall I not give the people the good news? He said: Leave them to act.
