حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَيُّوبَ صَاحِبُ الْبَصْرِيِّ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَيْمُونُ بْنُ سُنْبَادَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِوَامُ أُمَّتِي بِشِرَارِهَا قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا.

Abdullah told us, Abu Ayyub, companion of al-Basri, Sulayman ibn Ayyub, told us, Harun ibn Dinar told us, from his father, who said: I heard a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called Maymun ibn Sunbadh, say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The stability of my nation rests upon its worst members — he said it three times.
