حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ أَنَا عَقِيلُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ السُّلَمِيُّ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ هَيْضَمٍ عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي وَفْدٍ مِنْ كِنْدَةَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ لَا يَرَوْنِي إِلَّا أَفْضَلَهُمْ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَزْعُمُ أَنَّكُمْ مِنَّا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْنُ بَنُو النَّضْرِ بْنُ كِنَانَةَ لَا نَقْفُو أُمَّنَا وَلَا نَنْتَفِي مِنْ أَبِينَا قَالَ قَالَ الْأَشْعَثُ فَوَاللَّهِ لَا أَسْمَعُ أَحَدًا نَفَى قُرَيْشًا مِنْ النَّضْرِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ إِلَّا جَلَدْتُهُ الْحَدَّ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Bahz and Affan told us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah told us, Aqil ibn Talhah told me - Affan said in his hadith: Aqil ibn Talhah al-Sulami informed us - from Muslim ibn Haydham, from al-Ash'ath ibn Qays, that he said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with a delegation from Kindah - Affan said: none of them saw me as anything but their best - I said: O Messenger of Allah, we claim that you are from us. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: We are Banu al-Nadr ibn Kinanah; we do not trace our lineage away from our mother nor deny our father. Al-Ash'ath said: By Allah, I will not hear anyone deny that Quraysh descend from al-Nadr ibn Kinanah, but I will flog him with the full legal punishment.
