حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمْزَةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الزَّيَّاتُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَعَا لِأَحَدٍ بَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ فَذَكَرَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ مُوسَى فَقَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى مُوسَى لَوْ كَانَ صَبَرَ لَقَصَّ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَلَيْنَا مِنْ خَبَرِهِ وَلَكِنْ قَالَ { إِنْ سَأَلْتُكَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَاحِبْنِي قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِنْ لَدُنِّي عُذْرًا } حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ وَأَبُو قَطَنٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمْزَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعْنَاهُ.

Yahya ibn Adam told us, Hamza ibn Habib al-Zayyat told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he supplicated for anyone, would begin with himself. He mentioned Musa one day and said: "The mercy of Allah be upon us and upon Musa; had he been patient, Allah would have narrated more of his account to us, but he said: 'If I ask you about anything after this, do not keep me as a companion; you have obtained from me an excuse.'" Hajjaj and Abu Qatan Amr ibn al-Haytham told us, they said: Hamza told us, from Abu Ishaq, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with the same meaning.
