Yazid informed us: Hammad b. Salama, from 'Ali b. Zayd, from 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra, from his father, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The parents of the Dajjal will remain thirty years without a child being born to them; then a boy will be born to them, blind in one eye, the most harmful of things and the least beneficial; his eyes sleep, but his heart does not sleep." Then he described his parents, saying: "His father is a tall man, loosely built, with a long nose as if his nose were a beak, and his mother is a woman of heavy build, large-breasted." He said: It reached us that a child had been born among the Jews in Madina. He said: So al-Zubayr b. al-'Awwam and I set out until we entered upon his parents, and we saw in them the description given by the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him. And there he lay stretched out in the sun in a cloak, murmuring. We asked his parents, and they said: "We remained thirty years without a child being born to us, then a boy was born to us, blind in one eye, the most harmful of things and the least beneficial." When we left, we passed by him, and he said: "What were you two discussing?" We said: "Did you hear us?" He said: "Yes, indeed my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep." And he was Ibn Sayyad.
