حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَحَسَنٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ هُوَ الْحَسَنُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ الْخَيْلِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ غُفْرًا لَا بَلْ النِّسَاءُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Samad and Hasan told us, they said: Abu Hilal told us: Qatadah told us, from a man - he is al-Hasan, if Allah wills - from Ma'qil ibn Yasar, who said: "Nothing was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) than horses." Then he said: "O Allah, forgive me - no, rather women [were more beloved]."
